First Peek at Book Seven!

Book seven has crept up on Amazon (other retailers to follow) and I’m immensely proud of this one because it really challenged me (and I had a really good time researching the male main character’s job!!) I realise it’s the middle of summer, but that’s how publishing works, so here is a first look at the title, setting and blurb (no cover yet) of my winter release, out 20 October 2023!

Title announcement of ‘Snow Days with You’ with postcards from Chamonix-Mont Blanc

When Luna Rowntree gets an unexpected and life-changing legacy from a man she’s never met, she’s determined to find out why – even if it is Christmas Day and her family are expecting her.

So, with only her mother’s ashes for company – it’s a long story, but Luna knows her mother would have wanted to come on the adventure too – Luna sets off in her trusty Astra to the skiing resort in Chamonix, where her mysterious benefactor had lived.

But her little car isn’t designed for driving through snow-covered mountains, and when she runs out of fuel heart-breakingly close to Chamonix, Luna is relieved to be saved by her very own knight-in-shining armour. Well, knight in mountain rescue uniform anyway.

Yannick is charmed if baffled by Luna’s mission, and before he knows it, he has agreed to help. But Yannick has his own secrets calling him from the mountains, and his own reasons to run away. As he helps Luna understand her past he realises he has to face his as well if he’s ever going to risk opening his heart to love.

It was an interesting challenge for me crafting this one with the mystery sub-plot with all its twists and turns while simultaneously nurturing the love story between Luna and Yannick. I’m excited to hear if you guess the sub-plot ending (the love story is completely clear – they get their happily ever after as always!!)

I LOVE the Alps, so I was excited to set a story there. Chamonix is a place with such mystique and some fascinating stories. The relationship between people and mountains captured my imagination as I was writing this. I could never boil all those thoughts and feelings down into one book, but I hope you will all get a sense of the wonder of the landscape and the response of the human heart…
