I write ‘slow burn’ romance, which is all about the tension between the characters before they progress to a romantic (and sexual of course) relationship. They do get there in the end, but it takes a looooong time, with lots of obstacles.
I had fun making a bookstack with the love scenes marked and I think it’s also helpful for potential readers to know what kind of books I write. I think the love scene is a really important scene in the development of the relationship and I usually describe it emotionally, rather than physically (anatomically) so I can capture the importance of the moment. I enjoy reading a good love scene, but I know not all readers do, so I have a kind of compromise.
