Leap Day – Snow Days Day

When I’m drafting, I tend to use the dates of the year when the book comes out to guide my timeline, which means working around a year in advance (maybe a bit less). This time last year I was still drafting Snow Days With You (it took me a little longer than usual to finish the first draft) and I was using the dates from this winter, which means that the book features the 29th of February!

It’s not the day a female character asks a male character to marry her (although I have plans for that little nugget in another book), but it turned out to be the day that Luna and Yannick trek out to the refuge de l’Envers des Aiguilles to find the photo that Jim left behind.

Here’s a little post from the Facebook page of the real refuge, showing marmots!! If you’ve read Snow Days, you’ll know marmots are a bit of a running joke.

So happy Snow Days day!
